Breaking down can be a stressful experience, especially when you’re far from home. Even the most reliable vehicles can go wrong - if your vehicle breaks down and you’re not covered, you’ll likely have to pay over the odds to get roadside assistance or recovery. What’s more, as a Halfords Breakdown Cover policy holder, you’ll also benefit from bicycle rescue cover.
In the event of a breakdown, you can count on us to get you moving again. Halfords Breakdown Cover will send a Recovery Operator to you to repair your car or bike at the roadside. If this is not possible, we will pay to get you to the nearest Halfords store or autocentre, where further repair work can be carried out.
If the vehicle can’t be repaired the same working day and you have chosen our Nationwide cover, we will pay for recovery to your home address or nearest suitable garage to your home or if you would prefer and it is closer, your original destination.
For added peace of mind beyond roadside assistance, you can include help at home or within a quarter of a mile of your home address. Our Home level of cover ensures support is there when you need it most—whether you’re setting off or arriving back
We recommend regular Vehicle Servicing and maintenance to maximise the lifespan of your vehicle and reduce the risk of a breakdown.
We aim to reach you within 60 minutes. We’re the only UK breakdown service to operate its own garages, so no matter where you break down, you’ll never be far from one of our 1000+ stores and autocentres.
We'll assist you within a one-mile radius of your home address, provided you've purchased our Home or Full Cover policy. If we're unable to repair your vehicle, we'll arrange vehicle recovery to your nearest garage.
We’ll recover you to the nearest Halfords Cycle Repair Centre. If we’re unable to get you to the nearest Halfords, we’ll recover you to your home, the nearest railway station, car rental agency or overnight accommodation.
